June 2021 Ward 13 Report – Councillor Diane Colley-Urquhart

Ward

As a longtime supporter of dog parks, and as a dog lover, I have worked hard with our communities and City staff for more off-leash dog parks. Together with many of you, we have identified a potential area for a new off-leash dog park along the north side of Woodbine. The extensive South West Ring Road build out caused the loss of a previous narrow off-leash area along the west side of Woodbine. This new area will provide a replacement of about 700 metres of land for everyone to walk their dogs.

There will be very minimal changes to the site beyond the addition of garbage cans and the installation of off-leash area signage. The next steps are for City staff to engage with you and the Woodcreek Community Association, which they are in the process of doing. Please send me your written feedback directly to [email protected]. Please also visit my website at www.councillordiane.ca to stay updated and connected. If there is interest, I would like to facilitate a Zoom meeting to increase community engagement.
