Dear Neighbours,

Your government’s efforts to attract investment through job-friendly policies are working to fulfil its mandate of jobs, economy, and pipelines. Our economy is more diversified than ever and continues to see record levels of exports – meaning more world-class Alberta products, materials, and resources are making their way around the world.

With our balanced budget, job growth, low taxes, and many major public and private-sector projects now underway, it’s safe to say that Alberta is back!

Alberta’s Court of Appeal has ruled that Bill C-69 – Justin Trudeau’s “No More Pipelines” law – is unconstitutional. This was a historic moment in Alberta’s fight for a fair deal within the Canadian federation. It was also a major win for Alberta’s energy sector and the more than 100,000 men and women who work in it.

Trudeau’s unconstitutional attack on Alberta’s oil and gas industry through Bill C-69 was a massive overreach into provincial jurisdiction that created significant uncertainty for our industry and our economy. This massive win in the courts showed that this government will always follow through on its commitment to stand up for our energy sector and any unjustified intrusion into our provincial jurisdiction.

Alberta’s government is also making historic investments in our post-secondary programs to ensure there are opportunities for generations to come. Government is creating more than 3,000 new seats in the Calgary area, supporting students studying aviation, engineering, and more. This investment of $84.6 million will support the growing demand for workers in industries like aircraft maintenance, and film and video production, while also providing additional support to core areas like nursing and engineering. In total, over 10,000 new seats have been created across Alberta and hundreds more opportunities in the fields of early learning and childcare, IT, healthcare, and business.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Milliken
