I’m proud to support the Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant, which provides critical and immediate assistance to businesses that have been affected by the province’s most recent public health orders. In December, the SME Relaunch Grant was expanded to allow second payments and lowered the threshold for eligibility to 30% lost revenue. Since then, the program has paid out over $311 million in grants to over 45,000 businesses. On February 4, the program offered up to $20,000 in available funding per eligible application. For more information on how to apply, please visit www.alberta.ca/sme-relaunch-grant.aspx.
The provincial government has announced $17 million in one-time grant funding through the Stabilize Program to support Alberta’s live experience organizations. From festivals and hockey games, to concerts, plays, and rodeos, live experiences are critical to our quality of life and our economic recovery. One-time grant funding through the Stabilize Program invests in live experience organizations, so they can resume in-person live events aligned with public health guidelines. For more information on how to apply, see www.alberta.ca/stabilize-program.aspx.
Finally, the province will maintain the service model with residential and personal care facilities for people with disabilities in Calgary. The government recognizes how important these facilities are to the people relying on them. Everyone who is currently receiving services will continue to be cared for, with services that match their needs provided by Alberta’s government.
I want to personally thank all Albertans for the good work and sacrifices everyone has made over the last several months. We may not be out of the woods yet, but hopefully, there are opportunities where we can safely ease restrictions, while also protecting our healthcare system.
