September 2021 MLA Report – Calgary Edgemont – Prasad Panda

Calgary Edgemont

I hope my constituents had the chance to recharge over the summer holidays. I am thrilled to see children and adults alike back playing soccer, baseball, tennis, and even cricket. It’s also been nice to reconnect in-person with friends and family.

After all the challenges our province has faced, we can be confident that the great Alberta comeback is underway.

Alberta’s Recovery Plan is helping to breathe new life into the economy, to create new opportunities for all Albertans, as we work to diversify and bring jobs to the province. We’ve seen the largest ever investments in infrastructure – building roads, highways, bridges, schools hospitals, and housing. Many economic forecasts and big banks say Alberta will lead all provinces in economic growth, this year and next.

Jobs and investment are coming back to our province, as our government continues to work to create the most competitive environment in North America to live and work. Alberta’s government is also investing in high quality childcare to ensure more working parents can access the childcare subsidy and by making licenced preschool programs eligible.

Alberta is leading Canada out of the COVID crisis and leading the country in economic growth. I am confident we are not just on our way back to normal – we are on the way to our greatest days yet.

Thanks to Alberta’s Recovery Plan, we are seeing the best year ever in the Alberta forestry industry, the best year ever in the film and television industry, stronger commodity prices, and diversification though investment in industries like hydrogen. The future is bright here in Alberta and we will continue to lead the way as our government forges a path forward focused on the Alberta Recovery Plan to build, diversify, and create jobs.
