With the changing of the leaves, we know that fall is around the corner, as is the start of a new school year. Please watch for children and all pedestrians as you travel through our community.
I am also excited to share that Alberta’s growing economy, fiscally responsible provincial spending, and strong energy prices have allowed your Alberta government to announce additional actions to make life more affordable.
The province has extended the provincial fuel tax removal to October 1, making everything from driving to work to buying groceries more affordable. In addition, the electricity rebates have also been extended to the end of the year. For parents, childcare has become more affordable, saving families up to 50% on childcare costs. At the same time, Alberta continues to enjoy economic growth and increased employment with 133,500 new jobs since 2021. Your Alberta government continues to put the foundation in place for a strong future for families, businesses, and civil society.
In celebration of the 70th Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne as Queen of Canada, nominations are now open for QEII Platinum Jubilee Medals to recognize the contributions of Albertans to their communities.
