The Calgary spirit is as strong as ever, after a busy July with many events, the biggest of which being the Calgary Stampede, we are on track for a great August. The Stampede is always a great way to kick off the summer and this year, it provided a great morale boost for all Calgarians.
Now, as we go into August, we can look forward to taking the time to re-experience our great city. With many establishments reopening this summer, we can all fall back in love with everything Calgary has to offer. I am looking forward to events such as Marda Gras and other community events that will further re-energize the spirit of Calgarians. I hope to see and experience these great community events alongside you throughout this month.
I know our local businesses and non-profit organizations have been severely affected by the many restrictions that have been placed on them. They are our local lifeblood and provide the sense of street life culture that a thriving city requires. I encourage you to take advantage of what they will be offering locally to show them the appreciation they clearly deserve.
Let’s all reconnect with each other. Whether it’s at outdoor events, celebrating a birthday party, or enjoying time with friends and family, this August will be a time for togetherness and fun.
