Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Calgary Midnapore!
December has arrived and at this time of year, I am always grateful for Calgary Midnapore’s lake communities and the countless community outdoor rinks for families to enjoy. I encourage you all to take in the sights of Calgary Midnapore and enjoy the beautiful community that we live in this month.
November was full for me. I met with stakeholders in my new Shadow Minister portfolio for the Treasury Board, appeared on national news programs, and held the government to account in the House of Commons.
Last month, I also went to Germany to meet with German members of parliament and party leaders to discuss Canada-Germany relations and how the two countries can work together on a bilateral and international front. My past career in the Canadian Foreign Service continues to play a significant role in my work as a member of parliament and in the Conservative Shadow Cabinet.
As I proceed in my new role as Shadow Minister for the Treasury Board, my message to the government has been simple: the buck stops here. If they overspend, misappropriate funds, overreach, or underperform, I will call it out and be the reasonable voice that Canadians expect for their hard-earned tax dollars.
This month, my office and I will be hosting a Christmas meet and greet event. I always value the opportunity to meet in person with constituents and hear not only about the issues that matter most to you, but also catch up and celebrate the season with you.
