November is a time to reflect, remember, and pay tribute to those we have lost. This Remembrance Day I will be thinking of all who have served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice to Canada. Because of their sacrifice, we can worship where we want, love who we want, and live in peace. Lest we forget.
The fall legislative session is well underway, and the last few months in Ottawa have been busy. Starting with the election of new Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre, it has so far been an energetic and productive session holding the government to account. My focus remains getting the best possible outcome for you in Calgary Midnapore.
You should have recently received my mailer for fall 2022, which outlines the legislation set to be debated in the session, along with a reply card to let me know your thoughts. I look forward to reading your responses.
Next month, the Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission will be tabling a proposed map for Alberta in Parliament. This will conclude the independent Commission’s process of redistributing Alberta’s electoral boundaries based on an updated federal seat count of 37 as mandated by the Electoral Boundaries Readjustment Act. I would like to thank the Commission for their hard work during this process, and for the fundamental role they have played in upholding our democracy.
