An Update from the Hidden Valley Community Association

Keeping Things Going

While things have been much different this year for all community associations, your CA board has been keeping busy.

We have had to cancel all of our events due to public health restrictions, but despite that, we have still been keeping busy with other initiatives. H2 Spaces, our Master Plan for Parks and Green Spaces, is almost ready for its official launch. The Hidden Hut, although small (but mighty!), and the rink still need to be maintained. Recently, in June, we added some limestone gravel around the Hut where the grass wouldn’t grow, and mud was dominant.  We have also added some landscaping features (flowers/pots) in Hanson Ranch, as well as Hidden Valley (14 St).

During our monthly meetings, we have had the pleasure of welcoming our local community politicians. Calgary City Councillor Jyoti Gondek has been keeping us updated on city events/issues, such as the Green Line. MLA Yaseen and representatives from MLA Pon’s office have joined us as well, keeping us updated on the Alberta government’s response to COVID-19. We also have had MP Michelle Rempel join us. Online meetings have been a boon, as it doesn’t matter where our guests physically are (Edmonton or Ottawa for example), they can join our meetings remotely.

Here’s hoping the fall/winter brings us more positive news and events. In any case, we hope you join us for our HVCA AGM in September. We could really use some new faces to help with things like: Facilities and Rentals (helping to maintain our Hidden Hut for example), or an Events Director (for planning Events when we are able to start them up again).
