Nolan Sage Hill’s June Message from the President

A few weeks ago, we rented a portable toilet and placed it at the soccer field on Sage Valley Road and Sage Valley Drive. This was so Blizzard soccer and Sportball users didn’t have to leave the field should participants or family need to use the restroom. Please be respectful, and aside from toilet paper, don’t flush anything as we don’t want to lose our deposit.

Historically in June, we try to share information on seasonal road construction and tree planting. However, we have not received a response from our Councillor’s office. If our information request is answered, we look forward to sharing any relevant information with you.

Last month, we received word from Calgary Parks that our community garden location was approved, so now we can move on to the second stage which is designing the garden. The location will be next to the Sage Hill rock in the green space at the top of the ravine pathway, which is on the corner of Sage Valley Road and Sage Valley Blvd. We’re still one to two years away from breaking ground but the site is secured and once we fine-tune design, we can begin the fundraising process. Rest assured this project will be a significant beautification improvement to that green space and add value to the community.

This season’s food truck schedule is posted on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts (@sagehillyyc), as well as in this newsletter as a flyer. Our first night was May. 31 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the ice rink. All proceeds from YYC Food Trucks this year will be going towards our community garden project, so please consider supporting the vendors and us in our fundraising efforts.

Our next board meeting is Tuesday June 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Leopold Tavern and will be broadcasted on Teams as well.

Thank you.
