If anyone is counting – this is Message 31 for our newsletter. This will be the October edition, however, much of what was supposed to be in the September edition will be contained in this message. Ongoing technical issues caused our publisher to not receive my last issue.
Our first board meeting was in September. You saw the work of the Engagement Committee with an emphasis in growing our social programming within our community. We are planning other events throughout the fall. Keep up to date with community events via our webpage.
Have I ever mentioned that much of what we accomplish is done because of the partnerships we form with neighbours within our community boundaries and outside in neighbouring organizations? Some provide financial support, and many send us volunteers or goods in kind. I am so thankful to have these resources at hand. If you or your organization fit this description, please accept this expression of my sincere thanks!
Back in August, I asked members of the Board of Directors to tell us if they wished to extend their directorship for another year. A number have told us that they intend to step down prior to the AGM. I’ve referenced a few names already and a full list will be available prior to the Annual General Meeting. I will forward any interested persons who wish to come onboard to our Nominations Committee. Please note, there will be many positions that will require filling.
Over the summer and into September we were working on budgets and auditing, as well as preparing for our Annual General Meeting to be held in November. Now we are building a new budget as well as finalizing the details of the AGM. We’ll keep you posted on the webpage with dates and current information.
