The community centre, located along the Old Banff Coach Road, is surrounded by ample green space complete with a playground, soccer pitches, a baseball diamond and an outdoor rink. The community center is always busy with a variety of programs including yoga, moms and tots, line dancing, Celtic dancing, Tae Kwon Do, Senior’s bridge, baton classes, Girl Guides and Brownies. The Girl Guides also work within the community to maintain garden and greenspace, and aid in community cleanup. Coach Hill/Patterson Heights shares sports programming with the neighboring community Strathcona/Christie. Coach Hill/Patterson Heights also organizes a number of special events each year, including a popular Stampede breakfast.

In the City of Calgary's 2012 municipal census, Patterson had a population of 4,281 living in 2,008 dwellings, a 2.9% increase from its 2011 population of 4,162. With a land area of 2 km2 (0.77 sq mi), it had a population density of 2,100/km2 (5,500/sq mi) in 2012. Residents in this community had a median household income of $78,786 in 2000, and there were 8.9% low income residents living in the neighborhood. As of 2000, 23.8% of the residents were immigrants.
