by Garth Paul Ukrainetz, Poet of the Blackmud Creek
November flowers will never grow
Upon a field of fallen snow
O thoughtful heart, your garden best
Remembrance fertile fills the chest
In silence, sacred waters flow
Our hearts, like sunshine, warmly glow
For rain and sun make flowers thrive
Keep freedom, valor’s hope, alive
In honour, gratitude, and pride
Deep poppy roots take hold inside
Lest we forget their row on row
November flowers will never grow
