At great bar of Bow River

Drink the Calgary Cottonwoods

Thirsty trees of the prairies

Swill their fill on high plains

Lined along their trough flowing

Massive tree trunks for bar stools

Guzzling grog of the glaciers

Mixed with snowmelts and rains

Another round for the woodlands

Another round for Bow Valley

West Alberta’s fine water

To the mountains they toast

Mammoth roots, gentle giants

Anchored tightly to city

Drink the Calgary Cottonwoods

With their Bow River host
