Serving as the heart of Altadore, the Marda Loop Communities Association plays a pivotal role in community development. As a not-for-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers for over forty years, it addresses various community issues, from development to parks, recreation, and educational programs for all ages. They also serve as a channel to City Hall for residents.

Altadore Community Demographics

Demographic insights from the City of Calgary’s 2021 Census reveal Altadore as home to a population of 7,290 in private households, enjoying an impressive median household income of $153,000 before tax. The area also maintains a low unemployment rate of 8%.

Regarding housing, 38% of the dwelling in Altadore are single-detached houses. An impressive 81% of households spend less than 30% of their total income on shelter. 68% of housing are owner households and 32% are renter households.

215 residents have an indigenous identity mostly belonging to the Metis and First Nations indigenous groups.
