We Need Your Help Rebuilding the Glendale Community Hall

Picture this. The kids are playing with friends inside the Glendale Community Hall. A movie is playing on the big screen and mom and dad are lounging on modular furniture with friends, enjoying a hot drink from the new coffee machine. Now, it’s snack time and the kids sit at the new kitchen island waiting for hot cookies to come out of the oven.

Rebuilding Glendale’s Community Hall is really about building community. Volunteers have been hard at work to help us recover from the sewage disaster in January, with a guiding principle for all of their work; to create a revitalized space that will be welcoming and accessible for every member of our community. While the hall is insured, the funds don’t cover all costs that need to be addressed.

With flooring, drywall, and cabinets removed from the entire hall, now is the time to make the hall better for community residents.

To help us create that new and modern space we have embarked on the “I Love Glendale Hall” Fundraising Campaign. This $50,000 campaign will help to make our vision a reality.

Our vision for the redesigned hall includes new touch-free main double doors that open wide for full wheelchair access or to provide a grand entryway for brides and grooms who rent our hall. Our community room is also being reshaped to create a large flex room off the existing main entrance.

The expanded kitchen will offer large workspaces that can be used as a food and drink service centre for larger functions, such as weddings or community parties. Or maybe you and your neighbours want to gather round our rolling kitchen islands for a good old-fashioned kitchen party. How does a wine tasting or pizza night sound? Got better ideas? Great, because the space is yours.

Your help is needed to make this vision a reality. Please donate if you can. Visit https://myglendale.ca or follow us on Facebook and Instagram to learn more.

And a sincere thank you to each and every donor who has given so generously to support our efforts.
