Another very successful Woodcreek Community and City of Calgary community cleanup was held on Saturday, May 13. All told, we serviced 315 cars with a variety of drop offs.

We filled three garbage trucks, one metal bin, most of an electronics truck, and lots of tires, batteries, paint, and clothing were collected as well. As usual, the shredding truck was very busy. We brought the Swap Table back and a lot of items were dropped off and picked up by our community residents.

Joe Cavar and Syl Zacher arranged the drop off companies and Sue Larson and Erin Lackie helped with the organization and the lunch.

Denise Burzminski and Linda Robinson checked for memberships and sold 51 renewed memberships and collected 10 drop-off fees. We had a great group of volunteers to man the stations including Jim Flintoft, Maurice Despins, Ralph Lane, Fred Lukich, Ann Louise Long, Colin Robinson, Jo Ann Kagawa, Ardell Clark-Tronnes, Karen Levy, Eva Mason, Verna Kehler, Leanne Long, Tomas Ward, Aiden Ogilvie, and Eugene Walker. Keith Cartmell was busy as usual photographing the event.

After 13 years, this is my last Cleanup event and I want to sincerely thank all the great volunteers who pitched in over those years to make Woodcreek a much cleaner community.
