The community centre was buzzing all summer with eight weeks of summer day camps. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive – the campers had a great time! Camp participants had the opportunity to meet other neighbourhood kids, and to try art or a variety of sports including lacrosse, inline skating, swimming, dragon boating, tennis, and cycling. Themed days, ‘Olympics’ days, water games, and free play in the gym were also big hits with the campers.
We greatly appreciate our day camp sponsors who helped make these fun activities happen – Big Mountain Apparel, Forte Music Studio, Miracle Home Care, Shoppers Drug Mart (Lakeview Plaza), Sunterra Market, Telus, and Valentine Volvo.
Thanks to our leaders (Dan, Alicia, Daniel, Kate, Michael, Reid, Sam, and Trinity) and the many community youth volunteers for all their energy and enthusiasm.
We’re already looking forward to next summer!
