Happy June Neighbours!
May Social Night Recap
Thanks to everyone who came out to our May Social Night. Every second month, we make space for community members to converse with each other and the ACA board members. It’s always a great time when the event is generously attended. Our next Social Night will be in September.
Community Cleanup Thank You
Doesn’t that spring clean feel good?! We are glad you could join us to make our homes and community a little lighter and cleaner. A huge thank you to the City of Calgary for providing packer trucks and their crews as well as the funds to assist in the cleanup expenses for this event. Without their support, this event would not have been possible.
Big thanks to Little Caesars Pizza on Fairmont Drive for supplying food for all our volunteers. Also, thanks to Co-op MacLeod for their donation to make this event possible for our community. Of course, we really cannot do this event without our amazing volunteers who go the extra mile to make our events feasible.
Sincere Thanks to Helen and Erin
Our deepest gratitude to Erin Tsambouris and Helen Tubrett for their contributions to the community of Acadia. Erin was a board member and communication chair over the past year and was integral in making many programs available to the community.
Helen served as our Good Food Box Coordinator since its inception in 2022, as she helped pilot the program. Through the years, she liaised with our partners at The Community Kitchen to deliver affordable produce to Acadians. She met with many of you on a monthly basis at pick-up and aided in feeding this community. Your commitment and service will be most cherished. Thank you both for everything!
Alert about Texting Scams
A short note from the City of Calgary: There is a revival of the text scam telling residents that they have unpaid tickets that links to a very believable copy of the City Website. Please share as widely as possible that the City of Calgary will never text you about money owing. All requests for payment from the City will be mailed to the registered address of the violator. Please report any suspicious texts to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. If you have been financially impacted by a scam, please report this to the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
