Board Game Night – Mark Your Calendars!

Next Board Game Night: June 4

On the first Tuesday of the month, you all can dust off your dice and shuffle those cards for Board Game Night at the RCA! Happening from 6:30 to 9:00 pm (or whenever you finish gloating after winning).

Everyone is welcome to join us. Bring just your lovely selves or bring a boardgame to introduce to others. And there might be a snack or two!

Community Potlucks, What Are They Good For?

Did you know potlucks are a century-old tradition.

In April 2024, we had a lovely potluck. It was so good for those who came out to meet our neighbours and a tasty way to bring people together. Surprises, as always, are the best – you never know what other potluck participants might be contributing and it was a great opportunity to sample different dishes during one meal and share recipes. But the most important ingredient of our potlucks is socializing.

So come join the RCA Community Sunday, June 16 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm for our third Community Potluck at 7713 Ranchview Drive NW.

Curbside Treasure Hunt

On Sunday, June 2 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Ranchlands is holding our first ever Curbside Treasure Hunt! This event follows directly on the heels of our Parade of Garage Sales and will be a great opportunity to re-home your gently loved items while supporting waste reduction.

Simply place the items you are offering on your driveway or curb and label them with a sign!

Printed signs will be available for pickup at the Ranchlands Community Association during office hours, or print them yourself at home, and you can share your offerings (or your amazing finds) on social media using #RCATreasure.

The Fine Print:

• Please only have items out from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and items must be removed from the curb at the end of the event.

• If you see something, you will have to plan in advance for transportation of large or bulky items.

• Please only take items labeled with a Treasure Hunt sign or tag.

Farmstand

The City of Calgary’s Farm Stand Program supports various local and regional farmers and vendors to bring more fresh Alberta fruits, veggies, and artisanal products to more Calgary communities.

In partnership with The City of Calgary and the Ranchlands Community Association, we are very pleased to announce Shirley’s Greenhouse will be running our very own farm stand. Starting in early June, we will be able stop by on Monday afternoons and grab some fresh Alberta veggies and meat to spice up your dinners.

‘Tis the season for our Annual Ranchlands Parade of Garage Sale (POG)

The Ranchlands Community Association is excited to be hosting our Annual Ranchlands Parade of Garage Sales on Saturday, June 1 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

There is two ways to get involved!

Maps will be available at the hall the day of the event, and a link will be shared on our social media.

Pollen Pursuit – Mission Complete!

With the weird weather, the Ranchlands Edible Forest did not get their expected and much-needed pollen quota to pollenate the flowers and produce fruit in our Edible Forest. But we all know Ranchlands is a special place and so we were not surprised when a swarm of very friendly bees made their way to help us out. Unfortunately, their eyes were bigger than their wings and the poor little guys were too tired to make it all the way to the Ranchlands Community Association.

Thankfully, many of our junior Ranchlanders buzzed into action and helped our weary bees collect their pollen and brought both back to the Ranchlands Community Centre for a reward. Each hero received a prize and got to keep the bee as a buzzing new companion!

Just look at the smiles in these lovely photos below.
