Your Cranston Community Association is sponsoring the Cleanup Event again! Set aside Saturday, July 27 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm for this event, which will be located at the Century Hall parking lot (11 Cranarch Road SE). Google the address to find out how to get to Century Hall.
This free event is your opportunity to get rid of items around your house that are getting in the way or collecting dust. Our partners/vendors include:
• Shanked Computer Recycling. See the expanded list of accepted items at https://www.albertarecycling.ca/programs/electronics/epilot/.
• Cerebral Palsy Alberta. Used clothing, accessories, small household items, recyclable beverage containers.
• Rocky Mountain Metal Recycling. Items containing metals.
• City of Calgary Waste Management Division. Household waste only. https://www.calgary.ca/csps/abs/partnership-programs/community-cleanups-items-we-accept.html.
You can visit the vendors’ websites for a list of acceptable/not acceptable items.
News Flash!
The Cranston Community Association will be participating in the Alberta Recycling Management Authority Electronics Recycling Program again, through Shanked Computer Recycling. This year, the list of items that you can dispose of through this program has been expanded greatly (it’s huge!). You can check out the extensive list at https://www.albertarecycling.ca/programs/electronics/epilot/.
This is a fundraising opportunity for the Cranston Community Association through the Alberta Recycling Management Authority, so your participation is appreciated greatly – thanks in advance!
If you have any gently used household items, you can donate them to Cerebral Palsy Alberta (one of our long-term community partners at the cleanup event).
For items that contain metal, Jim Donovan (Rocky Mountain Metal Recycling) will gladly take them off your hands.
The cleanup is for household items only – no construction material please! The City of Calgary Waste Management Division website has a complete list of waste-disposal items that are accepted at the community cleanups: https://www.calgary.ca/csps/abs/partnership-programs/community-cleanups-items-we-accept.html. Note that there is no longer an organic materials drop-off at the cleanup. No organics!
Finally, please bring enough help with you to unload your items as the volunteers and vendor staff will not be unloading your vehicle.
See you there!
