Blessings

The evening sky filled with cloud of promise.

Darkness fell, and with it came gusts …..

Of errant wind, swaying branches ‘pon leafy trees

Then, as I closed too the curtain,

A flash of promise!

It filled the night sky … few seconds passed

Before a prolonged roar of thunder.

The storm progressed eastward from the southwest

Bringing lashings of welcome rain

To ease summer drought

And joy in me that our planet earth has respite

I have prayed for this.

I rise, often from my bed,

Just to listen to the patter upon the grass.

It is inspiring me!… the rain continues.

The lightening and rumbling thunder passes on.

The whole evokes a feeling of normalcy,

Putting one’s heart at peace.

Amen.
