Message from the Diamond Cove Homeowners Association President

Queensland cn

Dear Diamond Cove Homeowners,

Since our Annual General Meeting on May 30, 2024, the new board has been diligently working to address several important matters. As a brand-new board, our initial meeting agenda was packed with crucial items. We confirmed our executive committee, comprising the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Among the key discussions were:

• Securing a $5M liability insurance, mandated by the City of Calgary to meet the requirements of our Enhanced Landscape Management agreement.

• Reviewing the Special Tax Levy to ensure transparent management and allocation of funds.

• Updating the Diamond Cove Homeowners Association Bylaws, which haven’t been revised since 1993; these would be presented at the 2024 AGM.

• Gathering details on the playground project, scheduled for completion this year by the City (more updates to follow).

• Finalizing crosswalk improvements (painting and signage).

• Discussing community initiatives and events for the next twelve months such as Christmas Lights Contest, next Neighbours Day, Parade of Garage Sales (slated for the fall), Community Blooms Contest, spring/fall Neighbourhood Cleanup, Playground Grand Opening, and more.

We are eager to hear from you about future events and initiatives so they can be incorporated. Share your ideas with us via email at [email protected]. We are planning to handle approximately four events annually and are always looking for volunteers.

Looking ahead, once we grasp the intricacies of our Association, we will explore grants and fundraisers for community-enhancing projects. Ideas include fixing the retaining wall on Diamond Drive, replacing the median pavers, and potentially creating storage for community planters.

Your input is invaluable as we strive to organize effectively for the future. The entire board is committed to laying a solid foundation for success. We will keep you informed every step of the way.

A reminder that newsletter content is finalized one month before printing, so some information may be dated. We will soon gather contact information from all residents.

Thank you for supporting the board and contributing to our wonderful community. Let’s continue to keep Diamond Cove beautiful and clean – your efforts make a difference!

Warm regards,

Sonia Dantu

President, Diamond Cove Homeowners Association
