Citadel’s President’s Message for September

0
30

September marks the beginning of the school year and it is important to keep students safe. Students may be so excited to get back to school that they may not look both ways when they cross the street, so please ensure you slow down to 30km/hr in school zones between the hours of 7:30 am and 9:00 pm.

Here are a few other reminders to keep our kids safe:

• Do not park in “No Stopping” areas or in bus zones.

• Don’t make U-turns in school intersections or crosswalks.

• Don’t double park your car

• As a pedestrian, do not jaywalk – always use the crosswalk.

Citadel is fortunate to have two schools in our neighborhood: St. Brigid (Catholic school offering grades K-9) and Citadel Park School (Public school offering grades K-5). St. Brigid’s First Day of School is September 3 and Citadel Park’s First Day of School is August 29.

The Citadel Community Association continues to look for volunteers to help with all our events, especially our upcoming Book Sale. We could really use an Events Coordinator, a Volunteer Coordinator, and a Communications Director. If you are interested in any of these roles, email [email protected].

Here’s a quick list of upcoming events:

• September 14 – CCA Used Book Sale

• September 23 – Food Waste Reduction Workshop

Keep an eye on our website, https://www.citadelca.ab.ca/CCA/, for more information on each event.

Thank you always for your support.

Stephanie Christensen
