I would just like to highlight what has been happening/going on behind the scenes this past month, in no particular order.
We have still not received any indication of what will be covered in terms of our hall floor collapse. We will update you when we have further information, but in the meantime, the main hall remains closed. Thank you for your patience.
A number of people in our community have a lot on their plates right now. It is not my place to tell their stories, but we want them to know they are in our thoughts.
We wish all of you a wonderful autumn and look forward to seeing people out and about, and at our events.
We are fortunate to have a casino slot this fall. Our fundraising casino is at Cowboys, on October 19 and 20. We will be looking for volunteers to fill these slots and support improvements to our rink and Skate Shack area. Thank you, Peter F. for organizing this event!
Our secretary, Chantal O., is off to experience some wonderful new adventures. We are extremely thankful for her volunteer support in this role, with social events, and with the community garden. The Secretary role is the most pressing position that we need filled. If you are able to take on this position, please let us know!
Our AGM will be in November and will be held in the Skate Shack. At the time of writing, the date has not been set, but we will send out a notice sometime after our September meeting.
By the time you are reading this, we should have had our Community Cleanup event. Thank you, Rosa M. for stepping up to cover this event!
There have recently been a number of aggressive dog incidents in our community. Please remember that your dog needs to be under control and either on a leash when out in the community or secured on your own property. Thank you for being responsible pet owners.
Currie should see its first affordable housing development starting sometime this fall. We look forward to seeing it completed.
If you have not already signed up for our email updates, please do so at our website, www.rutlandparkcommunity.com.
