As I sit down to reflect on our recent activities, my heart swells with pride for our vibrant community. It has been truly inspiring to witness the way our residents have come together through volunteerism and engagement, raising the spirit of Hidden Valley to heights I always believed we could achieve.
One of our highlights this season was the Sounds and Spirits event, which was a resounding success! A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers, vendors, and talented bands who made this event possible. Your hard work and dedication brought an incredible atmosphere to our community, filled with laughter, music, and the joy of togetherness. It was a reminder of what we can accomplish when we join forces.
Our skate park also saw remarkable growth this year, boasting nearly double the attendance from previous years. It’s wonderful to see our youth and families embracing this space, making it a hub of activity and enjoyment. I encourage everyone to continue utilizing this fantastic summer event the City of Calgary graciously puts on.
Another delightful occasion was Movies at the Hut. It filled my heart with joy to see so many families gathered under the stars, enjoying a movie together. These moments foster a sense of belonging and community, and it was heartwarming to witness our residents enjoying a lovely night out.
I’m also thrilled to announce the completion of our long-awaited skating rink board replacement! After three years of hard work and perseverance, we finally have a beautiful and safe rink ready for use. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project; your commitment to enhancing our community’s facilities is truly commendable.
In November, we hosted a free Walk of the Pumpkins event, which served as a fun, festive conclusion to the Halloween season. It was wonderful to see families and community members gather to enjoy the displays and the atmosphere, creating a sense of togetherness that we cherish in Hidden Valley.
I also want to extend a warm thank you to all the volunteers who participated in our Door-to-Door Membership Drive. Your efforts have been instrumental in reaching out to our neighbours and encouraging them to join our community association. A special shout-out to the generous community members who contributed to our efforts—your support is invaluable! We look forward to welcoming many more residents to our association, both as members and as enthusiastic volunteers.
As we move into the winter months, I’m excited about our plans for a Winter Fun Fest in the new year. With so many exciting events on the horizon, I encourage everyone to keep an eye on our community board, website, and social media for updates.
