Every Tuesday, something special happens in our community—food that might have gone to waste instead finds its way onto tables where it belongs. Thanks to generous donations from local businesses, we’re able to rescue fresh, perishable food and share it—for free!
No strings attached. No income requirements. No questions asked. Just good food, available to anyone who can use it.
Why We Do It
Did you know that Canada wastes over 3.2 million tonnes of edible food each year? Every year, perfectly good food ends up in landfills while families struggle to put meals on the table. We believe that food should be eaten, not wasted—and that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, deserves access to fresh, nutritious options.
Thanks to our partnership with the Leftovers Foundation, we’re helping to rescue and redirect some of that food back into the community instead of letting it go to waste.
How It Works:
• Every Tuesday – We open the hall and give community members the chance to take home food items that would otherwise have gone in landfills.
• Come and take what you need – Whether you’re stretching your grocery budget, preventing waste, or just love fresh food, you’re welcome to stop by.
• A Community Effort – Local businesses donate, volunteers sort, and neighbours share.
This is about more than just food—it’s about reducing waste, building community, and making sure no good meal goes uneaten.
Want to be part of it? Stop by on Tuesdays and help keep good food from going to waste!
