Our Community Pantry is used by many people. While we appreciate the donations of unopened food and toiletry items, there has been an influx of used household items, books, and garbage left inside the pantry.
Please stop leaving these items in the pantry, especially actual trash. There are garbage bins nearby to put empty cups and garbage into, a blue donation bin for clothes at the end of the parking lot, and the WCA office accepts books.
When you put non-food donations and garbage in the pantry you put the pantry at risk of being shut down permanently. We know you want to pass on items to people who may need it, but this isn’t the space for that.
As a community pantry we work hard to reduce barriers to food access and treat people with dignity and respect, and all we ask for in return is the same respect for the pantry space.
