Here comes summer Beddington! We are finally getting extended periods of warm weather which allows us to look forward to the little signs of summer:
• New tender shoots in our gardens,
• Brown rabbits in the neighbourhood,
• Nose Hill changing from brown to a fresh vibrant shade of green,
• Seeing our neighbours after being shuttered all winter long, and of course,
• Looking ahead to upcoming community events.
Firstly, we would like to say a huge “Thank You” to all the Beddington and Huntington residents that came out to do the Green Space Clean-up this year. It is always wonderful to take a stroll on the path that runs through it and have it looking tidy and unblemished by garbage.
Secondly, if you have a garden bed in our Community Garden, please keep your eyes open for upcoming dates for when we are doing the garden preparations and having our Garden Club meetings; there will likely be dates on our website, Facebook, and Instagram pages.
We finally have a confirmed date of May 2, 2025, for the Mobile Market by Broxburn Farms to begin coming to our community. They will come every Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm and be located in the Beddington Theatre Arts parking lot. We are looking forward to all that fresh “local” produce and friendly service.
Lastly, preparation has been ongoing for quite a while for the Sleddington Music Festival scheduled for June 28, 2025. The bands are signed up, the food truck reserved and other groundwork in place for additional add-ons to the event. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please send your inquiry to Brady Adkins at [email protected]. We are looking forward to celebrating with the community.
