It is May and the days are getting warmer, and we are getting out into our parks and gardens! Another thing that May means is that there is only one more Board meeting in June until we take a summer break and then head into our AGM in September.
There are a lot of exciting things in the works for Glendale – we’re working on some projects to bring artists into the community to add some eye catching colour around the Hall, there’s the Naturally, Glendale project, our Hall has been full of a variety of programs and offerings, and we’ve had local community members reaching out to increase Glendale’s partnerships with local businesses, brainstorm about hosting events like plays and concerts, and more!
There are many ways to get involved, and volunteers are the heart of bringing these exciting opportunities to life. If you’re wondering if your time and talents have a fit in helping Glendale continue to be a great place for us all to live, the answer is yes! Volunteer opportunities exist on and off the Board, from helping to synthesize survey data, to leading an event (e.g. Halloween dance, casino coordination), to helping at an event (e.g. registration, bartending), contributing Thumper content, managing Glendale’s response to development proposals, and more.
The AGM represents an opportunity to stand for election by the GGMCA membership for Board positions. Stay tuned for more information on available roles and contact [email protected] if you would like to discuss how you can be involved in any volunteer role!
