Citadel’s President’s Message for May

As we step into May, it’s the perfect time to reflect on our health and well-being. One of the simplest and most effective ways to improve both our physical and mental health is by moving more. Whether you’re an avid exerciser or just starting out, every step counts.

Regular physical activity boosts mood, reduces stress, and improves sleep—leading to better overall health. Just 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week, including stretching and weightlifting, can make a significant difference.

Simple changes like parking further away or taking the stairs can add up. Did you know that walking an extra hour each day can increase your life expectancy by six hours? While higher-intensity exercise brings even more benefits, the greatest improvements come from simply moving more.

Let’s challenge ourselves to move more this May, whether it’s a walk, a hike, or just stretching during the day. Your body—and mind—will thank you.

Citadel Community Association upcoming events for May and June:

• May 31: Citadel Spring Fling Market

• June 14: Seniors Lunch

• June 21 and 22: Citadel Parade of Garage Sales

Warm Regards,

Stephanie Christensen
