Glendale’s President’s Message for June

Glendale cn

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, Glendale!

It’s hard to believe we’re already in June! The days are getting so long that one of the biggest challenges is convincing children that it is in fact bedtime. For many of us, this is a time to get outside, dust off the BBQ, and enjoy the warmer weather. For those of you fellow gardeners, this is the month of the year we wish we could control the skies – we want rain at night and sunshine all day. Do you talk to your plants to encourage them to grow? It can’t do any harm, right? Other than perhaps making your neighbours a little concerned.

For the kids, June is an exciting month—summer break is so close they can almost taste it! It’s the last month of school, and I’m sure they’re counting down the days until those final bells ring. Here’s hoping everyone has some fun summer plans ahead, whether it’s family trips, days by a lake or pool, or just some well-earned downtime.

Speaking of summer excitement, we’ve got a couple of events coming up in July that I hope you’ll mark on your calendars.

Annual Glendale Stampede Breakfast – July 12

Our beloved Stampede Breakfast is back, and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s always a highlight of the Stampede week and we hope to see you all there. We’ll be serving up some delicious food, listening to live music, sharing laughs, and of course, celebrating what makes our community so special. Bring your family, friends, and neighbours—everyone’s welcome!

We are also looking for volunteers to help pull off this event. If you’re interested in lending a hand, whether it’s flipping pancakes or helping with setup and cleanup, we’d love to have you! Register on our website: https://glendale.getcommunal.com/volunteer-opportunities.

Casino Fundraiser – July 20 and 21

We’re also gearing up for our Casino Fundraiser on July 20 and 21, which is another big event to support the association. It’s a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for all the things that make our community a great place to live, and we still need a few more volunteers to make it happen. If you have some time to spare and would like to help, please let us know: https://glendale.getcommunal.com/volunteer-opportunities/1042.

As always, your involvement is what keeps our community thriving. Whether you’re volunteering, attending events, or just staying connected, we appreciate you! Let’s make this summer one to remember.

Enjoy the sunshine, stay safe, and we hope to see you at these upcoming events!
