As summer winds down, Discovery Ridge continues to shine with lush greenery and vibrant blooms. Thanks to a season of generous rainfall, our community’s lawns and flowerbeds are thriving—perhaps the most beautiful they’ve looked in years! We’re grateful to ULS and Pixie Gardens for their continued care of our medians, walkways, and green spaces. Even our signature waterfall feature at the entrance remains in full flow, adding a touch of serenity to every arrival.
Crews are still active throughout the community, maintaining our landscaping, and monitoring recent herbicide applications. Please slow down when passing them and consider giving a friendly wave to show your appreciation.

Pathway Closures and Detours
Please be aware that certain pathways in Discovery Ridge and Griffith Woods remain closed or have detours due to ongoing work by the City of Calgary. These closures are essential for safety and the integrity of the project. We ask all residents to respect signage and avoid restricted areas.
Recently NDHA received an update from the City of Calgary about what they are now calling the Discovery Ridge Dam Safety project around Griffiths Pond in the west section of the neighbourhood. The update noted that the City is still in the design stage now expected to finish by the first quarter of 2026. The design will address both dam safety and support the evolution of the naturalized space around the pond. Following the completion of the design, they will begin look for community feedback. More information should be available in September as they have committed to putting up a project web page. This project falls outside NDHA’s normal mandate as the area adjacent to the pond is all considered naturalized space by the City.
Have a wonderful September and enjoy the beauty of our community as summer transitions into fall.
