As the year draws to a close, St. Rita School is alive with the spirit of community and faith. November was a month filled with meaningful experiences—students honoured Canada’s veterans through thoughtful Remembrance Day activities and classroom reflections. They also explored creativity and culture through a dance residency that concluded with a performance for parents, took field trips to the Telus Spark Science Centre, and celebrated Métis Week with a visit from a Métis fiddler who taught students the lively art of jigging.
As we enter the liturgical season of Advent, the school community is turning its focus toward prayer, preparation, and hope. Advent liturgies will be celebrated throughout December, offering students and staff opportunities to reflect on the coming of Christ and the true meaning of the season. Students will participate in the Warm Feet for the Street service project through the Mustard Seed.
The month ahead also brings joyful community traditions: the Christmas Concert and Bake Sale promise festive music and delicious treats, while the Ranchlands New Horizons Seniors Group will visit to enjoy an early rehearsal. In return, students will share handmade Christmas cards with the seniors, spreading warmth and cheer. Every student will also join in gingerbread house decorating, a cherished St. Rita tradition that brings smiles to every corner of the school.
At St. Rita School, faith and learning come together in joyful celebration—reminding all that this season is as much about giving and gratitude as it is about growth and community.
