On December 9, 2025, the Home Safety Workshop was organized by CCLA. It was facilitated by Rebecca Winkel from Wink Safety, who has over 20 years of experience on the subject. It brought together 25 participants for an engaging session on family preparedness. Rebecca began by explaining why it’s important to understand common causes of emergencies and how simple steps can help prevent them.
One of the highlights was a show-and-tell of safety tools, where Rebecca demonstrated useful emergency supplies and kits. She also emphasized practicing emergency drills and involving children in safety planning. Guest speaker Gavin Fielding, a certified Master Home Inspector, shared why regular home inspections matter and showed tools and equipment used to detect potential hazards in the home.
