It’s here! The last month of school! We made it!

Our Grade 12 graduating class had a wonderful celebration of their accomplishments last month. Thanks to Queen E staff and the Grade 12 Student Grad Committee who helped to organize such a significant event.

As well, in April, Poet Emma Healey came to talk to grade nine GATE students as part of Wordfest. She discussed themes regarding the meaning of her poetry and what it takes to be a professional writer. Students enjoyed learning from her expertise.

Eighteen students recently volunteered their time and skills to make 270 lantern bases for the “Ploughshares Calgary Society”. The bases were for floating lanterns used at a Peace Ceremony on Saturday August 4 at the Olympic Plaza Pool. Thank you to our students for their generosity.

This month we have our annual Knights’ Fest celebration. This is an annual whole school festival. Our leadership students have been actively planning a fun day for our students including organizing food trucks and outdoor activities.

As well this month, we will be hosting our awards ceremonies and finishing up the school year. Please see the school website for a listing of award ceremony dates and times, exam schedules, and student end-of year information.

Have a safe and happy summer!
