Point McKay is a residential neighborhood located in the northwest quadrant of the city. Annexed in 1963, Point McKay was once part of the town of Montgomery. The community is bounded by Bowness Road to the north, 37th Street to the east, and Bow River to the south and west. Because Point McKay is located on the Bow River escarpment, the neighborhood offers amazing views of the Bow River Valley.

Point McKay is serviced by the Montgomery Community Association.

Point McKay Community Demographics

In the City of Calgary’s 2012 municipal census, Point Mckay had a population of 1,318 living in 846 dwellings, a 0% increase from its 2011 population of 1,318. With a land area of 0.4 km2 (0.15 sq mi), it had a population density of 3,300/km2 (8,500/sq mi) in 2012.

Residents in this community had a median household income of $63,731 in 2000, and there were 9.5% low income residents living in the neighbourhood. As of 2000, 15.2% of the residents were immigrants.
