September was a very productive month for myself and for our government. We have been working nonstop to fulfill our mandate from Albertans. I was pleased to take part in many different initiatives and events with my colleagues.

I was particularly pleased to attend the signing of a Protocol Agreement with the Blackfoot Confederacy, along with Premier Jason Kenney, Indigenous Relations Minister Rick Wilson, and many other Cabinet and MLA colleagues. Signed on the same spot as the original Treaty 7 signing in 1877, this historic agreement between the government of Alberta and the Blackfoot on topics such as education, environment and lands, health, economic development and employment, and political and legal collaboration.

I was also pleased to attend an announcement from TELUS of $16 billion, which will create approximately 5,000 jobs and will lead to new projects across the province.

At the end of the month, I also participated in the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association annual conference, where I met with many different municipalities and participated in a panel discussion with several of my colleagues.

I was also very pleased to meet with many of you. Calgary – Peigan is a truly vibrant and exciting community within Calgary, and I am always willing to listen to any of your concerns. It is a true privilege and honour to serve each of you as your MLA in the legislature, and I look forward to strengthening my relationship to my community and those who have built Calgary – Peigan into the warm and welcoming region we are lucky to call home.
