During the fall, I had the pleasure of meeting with community associations, local business leaders, government partners and the opportunity to host my first town hall meeting to discuss important issues affecting Calgary-Shaw. A big thank you to everyone that attended the town hall. I appreciate the meaningful dialogue and opportunity to share the direction our government is taking to get Albertans back to work and create a strong economy. It was my honour to connect with you personally and respond to a wide variety of questions and concerns including; local community issues, energy, environment, education and some very personal advocacy for family in the health care and mental health care systems. Please continue to keep the conversations going by reaching out to me anytime at [email protected] or call 403-256-8969.

Community events and supporting our community schools, seniors’ groups, youth groups, ground breakings, grand openings and charity walks are always welcome additions to my calendar. My favorite new activity is joining the residents of Silvera for Seniors in Shawnessy for ‘Ice Cream Fridays’. Good conversation and an ice cream are impossible to say no to! If you have something you would like me to attend, please reach out, I’d love to join you.

Did you know I can provide congratulatory scrolls for a significant birthday or anniversary? Birthday scrolls are available to people celebrating their 65+ birthday, in five-year intervals. Anniversary scrolls are available to people celebrating their 25+ anniversary, in five-year intervals. Contact my office for more information.

My colleagues and I are excited to be reconvening the assembly to continue progress on the historic mandate we were given by Albertans—that includes introducing legislation for the Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation, Clare’s Law, tabling a budget to get our province’s finances back on track and continuing to fight for jobs, the economy and our energy industry. I look forward to sharing with you, in next month’s newsletter, the work we are doing and what I am hearing from you.
