Welcome to February, the shortest month of the year! This may be a blessing if the month turns out to be a particularly cold one, but I am confident even if it is, our Canadian resilience will win out and we’ll enjoy what the season has to offer. Our community has many great amenities to offer and we hope you bundle up and get out to enjoy them. Stop by the lake (open to all homeowner’s association members) or Chaparral Valley (open to everyone) for sledding or a leisure skate. At either location, the fire is often lit, and your friends and neighbours are gathered around.
Chaparral is home to great walking paths and easy access to Fish Creek Park. If you are concerned about icy conditions, or would like to try out Nordic Walking poles, stop by Chaparral Anytime Fitness during staffed hours to sign-out a set of the Chaparral Community Association’s poles. There are 10 sets available, so grab a friend too. Thank you to Anytime Fitness for managing the access to the poles for the community.
While reading this month’s Trailblazer, if you find yourself dreaming of dirt, flowers, and vegetables when reading the Chaparral Green Thumb’s column, consider contacting the Green Thumbs to secure yourself a garden plot for the 2020 growing season.
Have a fantastic month and a happy Family Day.
