Calgary Edgemont

Spring is finally here, and the legislative session is in full swing! My focus remains on advocating for the issues that matter most to you- strong public education, accessible healthcare, and addressing affordability so all Albertans can thrive. As always, I appreciate hearing from so many of you about the issues that matter most in our community of Calgary-Edgemont.

One of the key issues I have been advocating for is Bill 208. This bill will help students and families access psychoeducational assessments, ensuring that students with learning challenges get the support they need. Too many parents are left struggling with long wait times or high costs, and I believe every child deserves the access to the resources they need to succeed in school.

Beyond this bill, I continue to push for fair school funding, smaller class sizes, and more resources for students and teachers. I have spoken with parents and educators who are deeply concerned about the lack of investment in our schools, and I will keep fighting to ensure public education remains a top priority.

Affordability remains the number one concern I hear about from constituents. Families are facing high grocery bills, skyrocketing utility costs, and a housing market that feels out of reach for many. Albertans need real relief, and our NDP caucus continues to push for measures that will ease financial pressures and help people keep more money in their pockets.

As the weather warms up, I look forward to getting out in the community, attending local events, and continuing to meet with constituents. If you see me out door-knocking or at an event, please stop and say hello- I always appreciate hearing directly from you!
