At the heart of McKenzie Lake lies the McKenzie Lake Community Association (MLCA), a volunteer-based non-profit organization dedicated to fostering community identity, pride, and involvement. Offering an array of recreational programming, facility rentals, preschool, before-and-after-school programs, and community events, the MLCA is a cornerstone of the neighbourhood’s vibrancy.
Moreover, the McKenzie Lake Residents Association (MLRA), another non-profit entity, extends a plethora of recreational services and facilities to its members. Beyond the lake, members enjoy access to tennis courts, basketball courts, a beach volleyball area, toboggan hills, and a variety of equipment for water activities. The lake itself is stocked with rainbow trout during specific months, creating an inviting environment for fishing enthusiasts. In winter, the Association transforms the area into a haven for skating, featuring illuminated hockey rinks, an ice-skating pad with a fire pit, and a scenic skating path around the lake. The Beach Club facility, available for year-round rental to members, adds to the community’s allure.
