With the new year we are pleased to announce a biweekly winter Farmers Market building on the success of our 2025 summer market. This will take place in the Community Hall and will start coincidental with our annual Polar Party on Saturday, January 31 and run from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. We will feature food vendors who participated in our summer markets as well as new entries. This market will take place every two weeks ending in May when the outdoor market restarts. The Polar Party itself will feature hot chocolate, cookies, and candy treats as well as activities for the younger skaters.

On December 12 we sponsored our second annual Christmas wreath making workshop. Once again tickets were sold out, and the evening was enjoyed by all participants. The very next day we held our first Christmas Farmers Market featuring vendors old and new. These same vendors will be featured in our winter market planned for 2026.

Cambrian Heights continues to support two outdoor ice surfaces behind the Community Hall through the winter months. On the first ice surface we have provided nets but ask skaters to be careful with pucks when bystanders are occupying the space between the rink and the hall. Also, the second ice surface is meant for skaters and not hockey equipment. We ask all participants to be respectful of these considerations and other skaters especially younger children. Our ice rink coordinator, Brent Else, works hard with his team to ensure the highest quality of the ice surfaces for all to enjoy. That work is made easier with a team of volunteers. If you can spare some time this winter to help out, please contact Brent at [email protected].

The Community Association is always looking for new event themes and services. As such we encourage new ideas and ask residents to volunteer some of their time to make these events possible. Consider making a new year’s resolution to become more involved with your community in 2026. For information on volunteering, please contact us at [email protected].

Our new website is filled with history, pictures, and information about Cambrian Heights. Take a read and should you have any comments or questions please feel free to contact us at [email protected].

On behalf of the Community Board members and our core volunteer group we wish everyone a great 2026 year ahead and encourage participation in our markets and social events.
