As the snow melts and signs of spring begin to emerge, it’s the perfect time to refresh our community. Keeping Citadel beautiful is a shared responsibility, and small efforts from each resident can make a big difference in enhancing the appearance and atmosphere of our neighbourhood.
Picking up litter is crucial in preventing it from polluting our parks, streets, and waterways. A clean environment not only looks good but also promotes better health, reduces pests, and creates a safer space for children and families. A litter-free neighbourhood is also proven to foster a greater sense of pride and belonging among residents, encouraging others to treat their surroundings with respect.
That’s why we’ve introduced the Citadel Litter Pick-up Challenge to keep the momentum going throughout the season! Between April 1 and May 31, we encourage all residents to participate in this friendly competition. Here’s how it works:
1. Pick up litter: Head out to your favourite spots in Citadel, whether it’s the local park, playground, or even your own street, and start picking up litter.
2. Document your efforts: Take photos of the trash you collect and count the number of bags of trash you fill.
3. Submit your entry for a chance to win a prize: Submit your photos, trash pick-up location, and the number of bags you picked up via email to [email protected].
