Neighbour Day is a new event that the CCA is celebrating this June. Neighbour Day is Calgary’s celebration of community connection. Held each year on the third Saturday in June, Neighbour Day is a step toward creating welcoming and inclusive communities where neighbours connect and belong every day of the year. It was first introduced in 2014 as a response to the devastating floods that hit the city the previous year, as a way of bringing people together to celebrate the community’s resilience and strength. “Our neighbours are the people we see every day. They witness our ups and downs and due to proximity, they are the people we turn to in an emergency,” said Mayor Jyoti Gondek. We hope you have a chance to celebrate Neighbour Day on June 15.
The Citadel Community Association continues to plan events and workshops for our residents.
Here’s a quick list of upcoming events:
• June 15 – Neighbor Day/All Sport Day One Day
• June 15 to 16 – Citadel Parade of Garage Sales
• July 6 – Stampede BBQ
• July 13 – Seniors’ Event
Keep an eye on our website (https://www.citadelca.ab.ca/CCA/) for more information on each event. We are looking for volunteers for our Stampede BBQ. We need people to cook, serve food, set up, take down, and look after games. We’d love to have you attend or join us as a volunteer. If you are able to volunteer for our Stampede BBQ or any event, please email [email protected].
Thank you always for your support.
