Over the years, many of the houses built in Crescent Heights in the early 1900s have been torn down and replaced with modern structures. Luckily, local artist Jackie Ramsey has been busy capturing these, and many of the century-old houses still standing, in her 100 Storeys painting project (also available in a book of 100 prints.)
Six of these “Gone Forever” houses are featured in the Rotary Park Mini Galleries in May and June. Do you know who built these homes, and who lived in them over the last century? Send your stories to [email protected] and we’ll add them to our Crescent Heights history collection: 208 8 Ave NE; 219 2 Ave NE; 325 8 Ave NE; 620 2 St NE; 215 4 Ave NE; 235 14 Ave NE.
Join Jackie on May 3 at 11:30 am, for a Jane’s Walk tour featuring these six lost heritage houses and to hear more about her “100 Storeys” project. After the tour, we’ll have refreshments to ensure you have enough energy to join the Heritage Houses tour, starting at 1:00 pm. For more information contact [email protected].
