Crescent Heights President’s Message for April

CrescentHeights cn

Hello Crescent Heights!

Spring has officially arrived in the neighbourhood! The trees are budding, spring flowers are popping up, and the grass is starting to show those first fresh shades of green. It’s a great time to get outside, stretch your legs, and enjoy everything Crescent Heights has to offer.

April marks the second month of the Mini Galleries exhibit, Monsters, Fables and Moving Things. This fun and imaginative show highlights the creative processes of six young animators and is presented as part of the Festival of Animated Objects. If you haven’t seen it yet, take a stroll through Rotary Park, soak up the spring weather, and check it out before it wraps up.

With the warmer weather, we’re also saying goodbye to our wonderful outdoor rinks for the season. A huge thank you to our incredible Rink Rats for another great year! It wasn’t the easiest season with some pretty wild weather, but you made it all happen and kept the community skating.

We’d also like to extend a big thank you to Eilysh Z., who has stepped down from her role on the board as Director of Fundraising. Eilysh recently bought her first home up in Huntington Hills. While we’ll certainly miss her, we’re excited for her and wish her all the best in this new chapter.

And finally, a big thank you to Pat S. and Melissa G. for stepping up to coordinate this year’s Stampede Breakfast on July 12. Because of their efforts, this beloved community tradition will be happening once again! Over the next couple of months, you’ll see calls for volunteers to help make the event a success. It takes a lot of helping hands to pull it off each year, so if you’re able, please consider getting involved.

See you around the neighbourhood!
