President’s Message

Happy Spring, Crescent Heights!

March is here, and with it comes the excitement that spring will be here in just a few weeks. As the days grow longer and the snow slowly melts away, our community is getting ready to trade winter coats for sunshine and fresh blooms—and to embrace all the wonderful activities the warmer months bring.

As part of this seasonal transition, our outdoor ice rinks will soon be wrapping up for the year. On behalf of the community, I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the Rink Rats for another amazing season. Your dedication, long hours, and hard work make winter recreation possible for so many residents. We truly appreciate everything you do—and we can’t wait to see you again when the snow flies next fall!

Looking ahead, we’re thrilled about the upcoming start-up of the new dog and human drinking fountain in Rotary Park. This will be the fountain’s first season, and we can’t wait to see this long-awaited amenity come to life once temperatures allow. We’re currently looking for dog park users to join a small volunteer team to help with spring start-up and fall shutdown. If you enjoy the park and want to help keep this feature running smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.

Since this is the fountain’s inaugural season, we may need to plan a small celebration to mark the occasion—so stay tuned for details as we get closer to opening day!

We’re also eager to grow community programming and are looking for enthusiastic residents to get involved. In particular, we’re seeking volunteers to help organize activities for Active Aging (seniors), as well as other social and community events at our facility. If you have ideas, energy, or simply want to help bring neighbours together, please reach out to [email protected]. Your energy and creativity can make a real difference!

Finally, we’d like to share our sincere thanks to John M., who has recently stepped down from the CHCA Board after many years of dedicated service. John’s impact on Crescent Heights has been significant, and while we’ll miss him at the board table, we’re grateful that he will continue volunteering and supporting the Crescent Heights community.

Thank you to everyone who helps make Crescent Heights such a vibrant, welcoming, and connected place to live. Here’s to a spring filled with sunshine, fun, and community spirit!

See you around the neighbourhood!

Marie
