Happy New Year, Edgemont Volunteers! — Welcome 2026
As we step into 2026, we want to take a moment to celebrate what an incredible year 2025 has been. It has truly been inspiring to meet and work alongside so many wonderful volunteers from across the Edgemont community. Your spirit, kindness, and willingness to jump in wherever help is needed have made every program and event brighter.
A special shoutout goes to our amazing youth volunteers from Tom Baines School, who supported us with Winter Market setup, ice rink maintenance, and the big stockroom clean-up alongside our Ice Rink Keeper, Rick Wierzbicki. Rick shared that “the kids were fun… and his back was sore!” — hopefully you all enjoyed the day as much as Rick did!
We are also incredibly grateful to the dedicated students from Sir Winston Churchill High School, who were with us throughout Winter Market Day — from the early cold morning helping vendors settle in, to guiding visitors around the event, to the late-afternoon dismantling. Your energy and commitment truly helped make the event a success.
A huge thank-you as well to everyone who supported our Christmas Hamper program — from drivers, sorters, packers, gift-wrappers, to those who helped deliver the hampers. We simply could not have made this happen without you. We were especially touched to receive so many emails from volunteers eager to help even before our schedule was finalized. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and warm hearts mean the world to us.
And finally, a heartfelt thank-you to all of our Snow Angels, who continue to support neighbours during the coldest months. Your care and kindness bring real warmth to our community.
Thank you again — each and every one of you — for giving your time, heart, and love to Edgemont. We are excited for all the meaningful moments, teamwork, and community connections that 2026 will bring together.
