Thank you to the 362 volunteer contributions that made our 2024 events and programs possible! This number includes many returning volunteers who came back again and again throughout the year, your dedication truly made a difference.
We’re proud to share that:
• 70 volunteer contributions came from Sir Winston Churchill High School, bringing energy and enthusiasm to major events like Frost Fest, the Spring and Winter Markets, and the Holiday Hamper.
• 292 volunteer contributions came from our community residents, Tom Baines School, Mountain Creek Community Church, Westminster Church, and Scouts—supporting everything from year-round programs to seasonal events.
Together, these volunteers helped power eleven community events and eight year-round programs.
2024 Highlights
• Casino Fundraiser: Our biggest volunteer turnout—over 45 residents led by Cari and Marty—raised more than $82,000.
• Mural Additions: Sophie Zhang and Hilary Kwok from Amanda Morhart’s art class at Tom Baines School completed two new creatures on our mural wall.
• Holiday Hamper Program: Over 70 volunteers sorted, wrapped, and delivered gifts to 13+ families in need during the holiday season.
A Special Thanks
To all the Snow Angels who helped neighbours through the winter with snow clearing—your acts of kindness were truly felt.
Raising Awareness Through Stories
We’re excited to launch a new initiative with the Youth Press team! Student writers will begin interviewing long-term program leaders to help more residents learn about the impact of our year-round programs and how to get involved.
Thank you all for making 2024 a year full of generosity, connection, and care. Let’s keep the momentum going into 2025!
Loving our neighbourhood,
Tina Chen and Jeff Edwards
